One-year contract was signed between the Cardinals and Free-agent fullback Maui’a

When the Arizona Cardinals announce Wednesday that they have reached agreements with free-agent fullback Reagan Maui’a on a one-year contract, they did not disclose any financial terms of the agreement, just as most NFL teams did when they signed a new player.

Whatever, we can just have a look on what kind of choice the Cards has made. Maui’a, a sixth-round draft pick of the Dolphins in 2007 out of Hawaii, started nine games of the 16 games all of which he appeared in as Dolphins rookie. He also made it to have four carries for five yards that season. Being claimed on waivers from the Dolphins on Sept. 3 last year, Maui’a played for the Cincinnati Bengals as a free-agent, starting two games but being inactive for three others.

Signing Maui’a was a necessary move for Cardinals after fullback Justin Green was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a partially torn knee ligament. At the moment there are only three fullback on the Cardinals roster, including Maui’a, Tim Castille(notes) and Dan Kreider.
