Reports from the Associated Press said that San Diego Chargers rookie running back Curtis Brinkley was shot on Friday morning and is hospitalized in stable condition now.
Police said that Brinkley was shot early Friday morning as his car was stopped at an intersection in Cheltenham. Brinkley was able to drive himself a short distance then was taken to a hospital by a police officer who responded to the shooting. Investigators are looking for a gunman who fled the scene in a car. No motivation has been found yet. Not possible they are for nfl jerseys.
Brinkley is the third Chargers player in six years who has been shot. The previous two players were linebacker Steve Foley who was shot three times by an off-duty police officer because of driving drunk in 2006, and rookie safety Terrence Kiel who was shot in 2003 in an attempted carjacking in Houston.
