Greatest Laker Jerry West praised Kobe Bryant

Spending his entire basketball career and the whole post-career life with the Los Angeles Lakers, Jerry West is no doubt the greatest Lakers player in history and deserves all the honors his received. However, West himself does not agree with that opinion, as he takes a current Lakers player, Kobe Bryant as one of the greatest.

"[Kobe's] playing the best basketball I have ever seen him play to be honest with you. [...] There's no better player that I've ever seen than him... He's the greatest Laker player that we have ever seen."

It’s hard to argue with West on that point, as Kobe, who is in his 14th season with the Lakers, has already got four titles and is competing for a fifth one. He is now a leading role of the team, just like what West was during his time. West is so confident with Bryant that he claimed the young man could successfully defend the champion title of NFL team New Orleans Saints if he puts on Saints jersey to play American football. The claim could be a joke, but athletically, Bryant could just be able to also play football well enough to earn as many MVP titles.

At age 31, Bryant is unlikely to play another 14 seasons for the Lakers, but he is very likely to repeat West’s glorious life as a player, then a coach and then a team organizer.
