New York Giants rookie running back Andre Brown tore his tendon during Friday night’s practice and will have surgery next week. That means the Giants will lose the running back for the whole season.
The fourth-round draft pick played in 44 games with 30 starts and gained more than 2,500 yards and scored 22 touchdowns at N.C. State. The records he made last can prove him to be a valuable choice for the Giants. In the spring camp, he started all 13 games and led the Wolfpack with a career-high 767 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 175 carries as well as a career-high 29 receptions for 309 yards (a 10.7-yard average) and two TDs.
Brown tore his tendon on the left leg while he was running a pass route out of the backfield late in Friday night’s practice. It seemed that the linebacker he was running with did not make any contact with him, but he just fell to the ground and grabbed his leg in obvious pain. That injury will probably put him on injured reserve and make it not possible for him to put on official giants jersey this season.
